Song: Somebody To You by The Vamps
Notes: Trigger warning for violence, mentions of “do not resuscitate orders”
I don’t write for male readers, so this is gender neutral
This is based on the song but not necessarily a song-fic. Sorry if this isn’t what you wanted!
Warning for definitely getting some things wrong about the military. I’m only really familiar with the American military, not the British.
__________________________________________________________________________
When you had run away from home, it wasn’t the first time. But it was the first time you hadn’t come back home. It was the first time you left forever.
But when your parents sent a letter demanding you come back home, you had written back and told them you were joining the military. You had ripped up any letters after that. But you had never expected it to lead to this.
In hindsight, you should have expected it. Even as a medic, there were still risks to being deployed into an active battlefield. But you never imagined you’d end up blown up when trying to save a comrade in arms life. Blown up on the roadside as you were applying a tourniquet to give him enough time for other soldiers to get him to safety.
You lay with your hand outstretched and reaching, crawling through the bloody, ashy snow with rapidly draining strength. You gasped and coughed and choked as you looked toward the horizon, the ground, anything but the bleeding expanse behind you.
You crawled, dragging one arm in front of the other, one foot in front of the other. Towards what, you didn’t know, maybe salvation? You fumbled for the dog tags around your neck as if to check if they were still there and coughed hoarsely, choking on smoke, blood, and bile.
As you closed your eyes, you vaguely heard the sound of footsteps and shouting before a rough hand grabbed your shoulder and hauled you onto something, but you were out cold before anything else could be registered.
You woke up nearly a week later with the information that you were being relieved of duty and honorably discharged for risking your life for another in the line of fire.
Part of you was relieved, but part of you was disappointed.
Everything you had worked for over the last ten years since you joined the military to get away from your parents was over. It made you upset, angry, sad, all of the above. But above all, you were mad.
Apparently, so were others.
Albert James Moriarty, an old battle buddy of yours and a friend from basic training, heard of your condition and came to visit as soon as he could.
But he wasn’t happy.
You had been resting, carefully propped up by a pile of pillows, and flipping through a book on medical procedures when he arrived.
He, of course, arrived like he always did, silently. He looked positively enraged, and if you were anyone else, you’d be terrified. But you weren’t everyone else. You had seen this man at his lowest when his unit was killed, and he was the only one to survive, and you helped him through his darkest of times. You’d also seen him at his highest, when he passed as first in his company in basic training and when he accepted the promotion to General.
But now, now he was just angry. His ears burning red, and his mouth set in a grim line. You could tell in the set of his shoulders and the tenseness of his neck. He was fuming, and you had a good idea as to why.
“What. The. Hell.” He snarled, and you raised an eyebrow,
“Ooooh, we’re cursing now. You must be really pissed about something.” You said, not taking your eyes off the book in front of you. He grimaced and snatched the book from your hands, ignoring your protests and closing the thing.
“Hey! I was reading that!” You snapped back, but he took a seat at your side, tossing the book on your bedside table.
Normally he was so calm and collected. It was odd to see him so angry. But you were used to seeing anger, with drill sergeants screaming in your face during basic.
“Do you have any idea what almost happened?” He demanded, and you shrugged,
“Not a clue.” You replied, and he tossed a file onto your lap. You ignored the brief flash of pain as you picked it up.
It was your file. Your picture was stamped with “honorably discharged” across it, and medical records underneath your military history.
“Okay? It’s my file. What about it?” You ask, confused and more than a little frustrated. You wanted to focus on healing and reading your book. Not playing mental chess with the man you were currently engaged to.
Albert pointed to a part in the medical records with a stiff finger.
“DO NOT RESUSCITATE” was emblazoned in bold black letters, and you finally understood why he was so upset.
You had almost died.
“I’m fine, Albert. Really I am. I survived the accident and am on the road to healing.” You said and reached over to place a hand on his. He turned his hand over and gripped yours tightly.
“Don’t do that to me again. You hear? That’s an order.” He whispered and pressed a kiss to your knuckles.
“I just want to be somebody to you.” You reply quietly and he looks on the verge of tears.
“You’re everything to me.”

Song: Never Gonna Let You Down by Colbie Caillat
Genre: Fluff with some hints of angst
Notes: PLATONIC RELATIONSHIP WITH YULIY, pre-Sirius the Jaeger plotline.
I’M SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG
This is based on the song, but not a song fic because it was already getting sooo long, and I was slowly wasting away.
__________________________________________________________________________
A pounding on your door in the middle of the night woke you with a startle. You instinctively wrapped your hand around the pistol under your pillow. It was a habit after being a Jaeger for so long. You silently crept toward the stairs of your home.
The pounding continued as you descended the stairs, hand clutching your gun as you tried to peek out the window and into the rain streaking down in a torrent that flooded the street. Finally, however, once you saw just who was pounding at your door, you flung it open in haste.
It was Willard. Cold, wet, shivering and holding something covered in blankets. He said your name quietly, and you hurriedly ushered him inside.
“What sort of time do you call this?! I thought you were still in Russia looking for—” Willard shushed you, and before you could retaliate, he uncovered the lump of whatever he was holding, draping the soaking-wet blankets over the back of the couch.
It was a boy, no older than seven or eight years old. Dressed in clothes you didn’t recognize, the boy had black hair with a shock of white plastered to his forehead. His eyes were screwed shut, and his cheeks were flushed a bright red, chest heaving as he battled whatever ailment he had.
He was sick. That much was obvious.
“Willard, what—”
“His name is Yuliy. I found him abandoned in Russia. Vampires destroyed his entire village.” Willard said, and your brows furrowed, taking in the boy’s sick appearance once more. Then, you spun on your heel, tucking your gun in the waistband of the pajama pants.
“Wait—where are you going?” He asked as you left his side. You looked over your shoulder,
“To get something to help him feel better. That’s why you brought him here, right?” This effectively shut the professor up, and he set Yuliy down on the recliner in the corner of your living room, putting a new blanket over him as you rummaged through your home for things that could help.
Eventually, you came back with a set of pajamas tucked under your arm, a tray of three steaming mugs, and a towel. Willard had brought the sopping wet blankets to your laundry room and was currently talking in quiet tones to Yuliy, who still refused to open his eyes. Finally, you uncovered Yuliy and picked him up gently. He was painfully light for his age.
He curled into your chest, one cold arm wrapping around your neck and the other clutching his wet clothes to his body in an attempt to preserve any sort of warmth.
“I’m going to help him get changed. You wait here.” You explained to Willard, who nodded. Once inside the guest bedroom, you set Yuliy down on the bed and got on your knees, so you were at eye level with him.
“Yuliy? I need to get these clothes off of you. They’re helping keep you sick. Can you help me?” You spoke in quiet tones, and Yuliy slowly opened his eyes. You couldn’t contain your gasp. They were the most brilliant blue color, though they were hazy with exhaustion and a hint of deep, deep sadness. But nonetheless, he nodded, and you quickly got him changed, turning your back when he stripped himself of his underwear and put the new on. The pajamas were painfully oversized on him, the shirt hanging down to his thighs and the trousers having to be cinched as tight as they would go and rolled up at the bottom.
Now dressed in dry clothes and wrapped in a blanket, he sat with his mug of hot cocoa as you dried his hair. He had his small hands wrapped tightly around the mug as Willard nursed his cup of tea.
“What happens now, Willard?” You asked, and he frowned as he set the cup down on the coffee table.
“I’m going to kill vampires,” Yuliy said, uttering the first words you had heard him speak. He spoke with such conviction that you actually believed he could do it.
………………..
The first time you saw Yuliy cry was almost precisely one year after he came to live with you. Perhaps living with you wasn’t the correct phrase. He accompanied Willard on missions more often than he didn’t, but you still kept the spare bedroom made up for him for when he would come around.
Now was one of those times. Willard was asleep on the couch, and Yuliy was upstairs in the guest bedroom. You had got up to get a glass of water when you heard his quiet cries. Your heart shattered when you heard how he tried to stifle them. Then, opening his door as silently as you could, you saw him hunched in the corner, fist to his lips as he tried to keep quiet.
All he needed to do was look at you before you were gathering him in your lap on the bed and rocking him back and forth. He clung to your clothes, nose buried in the crook of your neck. You rubbed his back and rocked slowly, saying soft words of encouragement as he calmed down.
“They died last week… My family. It’s the one-year anniversary.” He finally whispered, and your heart broke even more. He was trying so hard to be strong, but he was just a boy.
“I’m supposed to be strong! I shouldn’t be crying! I should—”
“Let yourself be a child, Yuliy.” You cut him off gently and leaned your head on his. His grip tightened, and he dissolved into tears again.
………………..
The first time you saw him kill a vampire was when he was sixteen—nine years of raising the young Sirius to the best of your abilities with Willard at your side.
You were there through his heartaches, tears, injuries, everything. You were there when Phillip, Dorothea, and Fallon joined the little group. You had become something of a parent to all of them. They often joked that they were a family and that you and Willard were the parents.
You were hidden in wait for their mission to conclude so you could treat their injuries. You didn’t participate in fighting anymore, not after your last mission had your entire team killed years ago. But that didn’t mean you had to miss out on all the fun.
So you waited.
Yuliy was beautiful to watch as he fought. He twisted through the air and used his three-sectioned staff (that you had gotten for him) with such grace and practice it was mesmerizing.
………………..
A knock on your door distracted you from your book, and you looked out the window to your left.
It was Yuliy.
He had been gone on a mission for weeks that he wouldn’t tell you about. He didn’t have his case with his staff which was odd. He was staring down where he was fiddling with his fingers. What was strange was his white streak of hair had gotten more prominent, and his right eye was clamped shut.
With a frown, you opened the door,
“Yuliy? You know you don’t have to knock, right?” He shrunk in on himself, and your frown grew.
“What’s wrong?”
Before you knew it, Yuliy had wrapped his arms tightly around your middle, head in the crook of your neck like he used to when he was small.
“He’s dead.” He whispered,
“Who?”
“Mikhail. My older brother. He got killed in a fight over the Arc.” Yuliy sounded close to tears, so you wrapped your around his shoulders and pulled him even closer.
“I’m so sorry, sweetheart.” You whispered and felt hot tears soak into your skin as Yuliy began to cry.
The two of you stood like that for a while, you rocking Yuliy back and forth much like you had when you had found him crying for the first time. His cries were quiet like always, but he never wavered and never let go.

Song: You Say by Lauren Daigle
Genre: Fluff? I think?
I’M SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG MY FRIEND
I got the idea from an Ozpin Oneshot I found on A03 by epicmoonintensifies. I do not own this idea. However, I used my own floriography books and some websites to create the bouquets and flowers mentioned in this story.
Also, warning for descriptions of an anxiety attack.
__________________________________________________________________________
Entering Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College had been a mistake. You hated fighting. You weren’t even a good fighter in the first place. But you had killed a cursed spirit (really on accident) and were seen by a man with white hair and dark sunglasses. You received a letter from the school a week later, and within the next three days, you had said goodbye to your family and left home for the first time.
Meeting the other second-year students had been nerve-wracking. You were already behind in what you had to know, so you expected everyone to be unwelcoming. Especially Zen’in Maki. However, Panda had been welcoming, but Inumaki Toge was silent. Did he not like you?
It turns out he simply couldn’t speak without fear of cursing someone with his cursed technique.
I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I'm not enough
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low?
Remind me once again just who I am because I need to know
Gojo paired you with Inumaki for a mission. It was simple, clear out a minor infestation. Plus, Gojo had said it was “bonding time with your fellow students” with a cheeky wink.
Why Inumaki would even consider ‘bonding’ with you was beyond you.
It was dark, with a slight breeze blowing as you and Inumaki searched the abandoned elementary school. Apparently, students had been going missing, and it was up to you to clear out the cursed spirits. It had been easy. Both of you completed the job without too much difficulty and, thankfully, no injuries.
“Um… Inumaki?” Your quiet voice broke the almost companionable silence between the two of you. He stopped from where he was walking slightly ahead and looked at you, an eyebrow raised. He didn’t say anything. You fiddled with your fingers. “Thank you for helping me, I really appreciate it, and I couldn’t have done it on my own.” You said before hurrying ahead and toward the car designated to take you back to your dorms.
He probably didn’t want your thanks anyway.
Ooh oh
You received the flowers two days later. They were outside your dorm, and you had frowned. Who had gifted you flowers? Surely not Gojo. He didn’t seem like the type to do that. And surely none of the other students would have the desire even to get to know you.
You were a nobody—someone who had no talent.
The yellow roses, zinnias, and pansies were tied with a teal chiffon ribbon and arranged neatly in a lovely bouquet. You pressed your nose into the petals and inhaled deeply. They smelled beautiful.
It wasn’t until you purchased a book on flowers that day that you actually realized what they mean.
Friendship.
You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And You say I am held when I am falling short
And when I don't belong, oh You say I am Yours
And I believe, (I) oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe
Your first anxiety attack at school hits you like a truck. You can’t breathe, can’t see anything but the spinning around you. The light hurts, sound hurts. Your heart is thrumming out of control, and your lungs constrict so much it hurts to inhale, much less exhale. Hot and sticky tears stream down your cheeks and the back of your throat, making you gasp for air as you try and work through the panic.
You are sat outside your dorm room. It’s locked. It’s what set off your anxiety attack in the first place. Someone sits beside you, a hand is placed on your head, and you flinch, looking to the side with swollen eyes.
It’s Inumaki, eyes filled with concern as he takes in your disheveled appearance.
“Mustard leaf?” He asks, and you shake your head.
“I’m okay.” Your voice cracks. You finally have what he means when he says certain things. But he shakes his head,
“Fish flakes.” He says, and your lips tremble as his hand starts to smooth over your head, ruffling the tresses in an attempt at comfort.
The only thing that matters now is everything You think of me
In You, I find my worth. In You, I find my identity.
You receive another bouquet of flowers the next day. They’re tied together with a black velvet ribbon.
Chrysanthemum. Condolences.
Marigold. Strength.
Lily of the valley. Better days are ahead.
Mint. Consolation.
You press your face into the flowers again and wonder if this mysterious gift giver knows how much you need the message.
Ooh oh
You get hurt training six months later. It’s your turn to train with Inumaki, and you find that you’ve actually gotten better. You can hold your own against Panda (for the most part), and while Maki still scared you, you find yourself enjoying your time sparring against her.
Which is why it surprises you so much to get hurt.
Pain lances through you, and you drop to your knees. Immediately, Inumaki drops his fighting stance and is at your side, taking a look at your arm, which is already swelling up. “It’s probably broken,” you must as the trio takes you to see Ieiri Shoko.
You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don't belong, oh, You say I am Yours
And I believe, (I) oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
Oh, I believe
The third bouquet of flowers appears outside your dorm’s doormat later that day when your arm is in a sling and covered in a towel-wrapped bag of ice. There’s a knock at your door, and when you open it, there it is. You bring the flowers inside and go to flip open your book.
Hyacinths. Asking for forgiveness.
Bluebells. Humility.
Olive branches. Asking for peace.
“Is it him?” You wonder as you hang the bouquet upside down in your window with the other two.
Taking all I have, and now I'm laying it at Your feet
You'll have every failure, God.
You'll have every victory.
Ooh oh
You start hanging out with Inumaki more after your little accident. You go on walks, and he takes you out to cafés. Finally, he gets the courage to hold your hand one night while walking you back to your dorms.
Two days later, another bouquet.
Blush roses. Blossoming romance.
Yellow tulips. Hopeless love.
Honeysuckle. Devoted affection.
Sweet Williams. Gallantry.
It has to be him.
Please be him.
You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don't belong, oh, You say I am Yours
And I believe, (I) oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe
Ten years later, ten years after promising yourself to Inumaki, you get a final bouquet.
Red roses. True love.
Ivy. Fidelity.
Myrtle. Hope and love in marriage.
Dahlia. Commitment and eternal love.
All tied together with a white lace bow and a ring in the center.
Oh, I believe, oh
Yes, I believe, oh
What You say of me
Oh I believe

Genre: ANST
POST-MUGEN-TRAIN
This was inspired by a scene from Death Parade. Like the dialogue, later on, is pretty close, so you know it’s gonna be sad lmao.
__________________________________________________________________________
Rengoku Kyojuro woke up to the sound of chirping birds and sunlight streaming into his face.
Where was he? The last thing he remembered was fighting upper moon three. What was his name again? Akaza?
Looking around, he realized he was home.
Your home.
Where he would go every night after defeating demons and fall asleep wrapped in your embrace. Where you would bandage his wounds and kiss him whenever he tried to act tough. Because, of course, he would; he needed to protect you.
He got up from where he was lying on the ground. Why was he on the floor? He brushed off his haori and headed through your garden—carefully stepping over your cultivated plants by walking on the stone—and towards the engawa.
However, he stopped when he reached the open door. Something good was wafting out from the kitchen. Something delicious. Was that sweet potatoes he smelled? His belly started rumbling, and he realized he hadn’t eaten since he first got on the train. There was a pep in his step as he entered your home. Sweet potatoes and getting to see you? Had he died and gone to heaven?
You were bustling about in the kitchen as he entered. Your kimono sleeves were rolled up to your elbows as you scrubbed and washed the sweet potatoes before baking them. He grinned. Oh, how he loved you and your cooking.
But something felt off.
Youngblood thinks there's always tomorrow.
I miss your touch on nights when I'm hollow
I know you crossed a bridge that I can't follow
Why hadn’t you noticed him yet? You always saw him the moment he stepped in the door. You always turned around with that brilliant smile on your lips and welcoming words on your tongue. You always wrapped your arms around his waist and pulled him in for a kiss.
So why hadn’t you?
Kyojuro called your name softly, hesitantly, as he waited for you to turn around.
You did. And his heart dropped.
Since the love that you left is all that I get
I want you to know that if I can't be close to you
I'll settle for the ghost of you
I miss you more than life (More than life)
Your eyes were red-rimmed, and you looked like you were holding back tears as you took a batch of sweet potatoes and started prepping the rest of dinner. Kyojuro called your name again. This time he was worried. You still gave no indication that you had heard him.
What was going on? Were you mad at him? The silent treatment wasn’t something you usually did when you were upset. Typically you left for a while before coming back and talking it out.
Abruptly, you turned, a plate of steaming sweet potatoes in your hands as you headed towards him.
And walked straight through him.
And if you can't be next to me
Your memory is ecstasy
I miss you more than life
I miss you more than life
Kyojuro felt cold. Had he died? Really, truly died?
But he couldn’t have!
He promised you that he would make it home safely. That he would run back home to you.
He couldn’t have died… Could he?
There was a pain in his chest as he followed you out of the kitchen and towards the living area where the kotatsu table was kept.
What were you doing?
Youngblood thinks there's always tomorrow (Woo)
I need more time, but time can't be borrowed
I leave it all behind if I could follow
The ground dropped out from under his feet, and his stomach twisted as he saw what you were doing.
A small shrine.
With his picture on it.
You knelt on the pillow before the altar and set the bowl down.
“Here… It was your favorite, right?” Your voice cracked as you adjusted how the bowl sat on the little shelf, “You know… I just can’t shake the habit of making so much. You know?”
Kyojuro watched silently as you pressed your hands together and closed your eyes, praying to whoever was listening.
Since the love that you left is all that I get
I want you to know that if I can't be close to you
I'll settle for the ghost of you
I miss you more than life, yeah
“Kyojuro… I’m—I’m so—” You whispered but cut off as your voice cracked again. Slowly, ever so slowly, your shoulders began to shake. Tears welled up and flowed over and down your cheeks. Kyojuro couldn’t stop his own tears from welling up. He swallowed them down. He hated seeing you cry. It was his least favorite thing in the world.
And he could do nothing about it.
But he wouldn’t let his tears fall. Even in death, he had to be strong for you.
And if you can't be next to me
Your memory is ecstasy
I miss you more than life
I miss you more than life
“I’m upset.” You said after gaining your voice back. Kyojuro looked up from where he was staring at his clenched fists. “I’m upset you weren’t able to keep your promise. That you would come back to me. I know you fought valiantly. I know you fought bravely. But—” You stopped again, swallowing thickly.
“It’s okay.” He tried but couldn’t find the words to comfort you, even if you couldn’t hear him.
“But I failed you!” You exploded, and he had to clench his teeth to keep from crying.
Failed him? How could you have failed him?
Whoa, oh, oh-oh
More than life
Oh-oh
“I failed because I didn’t stop you! I know countless people would have died, but it kills me not to have you around! I miss you, Kyojuro!” You sobbed, digging your fingers into the fabric of your kimono. Tears darkened the fabric, and his heart and soul splintered into pieces.
“You didn’t fail me!” He cried, rushing forward only to pass right through you as he tried to pull you into his arms.
So if I can't get close to you
I'll settle for the ghost of you
I miss you more than life
There was a knock on the doorframe, and you whirled to see whoever was standing in the doorway. Kyojuro turned to see young Kamado Tanjiro. Agatsuma Zenitsu and Hashibira Inosuke stood behind him. Tanjiro had a look of sympathy on his face as he took in your crying appearance. He said your name softly, and you waved the boys inside.
“It’s nice to see you, boys. Please, come in. I just prepared dinner.” You said, wiping the tears away with your kimono sleeves.
Even Inosuke was subdued as the four of you ate your sweet potatoes. No one commented on the fact that it was the only thing you were eating.
A warm feeling began in Kyojuro’s chest, and he dried his tears.
And if you can't be next to me
Your memory is ecstasy
I miss you more than life
I miss you more than life
As much as it killed Kyojuro to leave.
To pass on.
He knew you would be taken care of.

I might write a part two if this is received well enough!
__________________________________________________________________________
The man in front of you was massive, even though he was your age. He towered over you, pushing at least six feet tall, which was most likely wrong. He had brown hair and dark eyes, the beginnings of a beard peeking through as he adjusted his coat and swallowed.
He was dashing and handsome.
A dangerous combination.
“This is Vander. He’ll be your bodyguard for the night at the charity gala.” Your father explained, and you blinked.
“What about Frank?” You asked, and your father shrugged,
“He’s busy. Vander will do for the night. I owe him a favor, and he needs a job.” He said before leaving you in the company of the man. You pulled out a small pocket-sized book from your trousers as you settled in the carriage meant to take you to the charity gala.
“It’s a pleasure to—” Vander began, but you cut him off.
“You’re from the Undercity, aren’t you?” You asked, and he stiffened, hands slowly curling into fists as if ready for a fight. You were sure he could snap your neck with one hand, so you had to tread carefully with your words. But treading carefully wasn’t your forte.
“Is there a problem with that?” Vander asked, his voice quiet but dangerous. You shrugged, a motion that was like your father’s.
“No. Just curious is all.” You said and turned back to your book.
The gala was in full swing by the time you arrived. People were schmoozing with Council Members, trying to get more money for their various goals. So in that sense, it wasn’t really a charity gala. It was just a money grabber. You hated these types of functions.
Hours into the gala, you were at your limit. The number of fake smiles and small talk was getting to you. The next person to talk to you was going to get their head ripped off.
A rough voice called your name, and you turned, ready to snap and spit venom at the unfortunate soul who dared speak to you.
It was Vander. Looking amused at your anger. Abruptly, your rage faded. And for the life of you, you couldn’t figure out why.
“What is it?” You asked, still upset but nowhere near as angry as before. Vander gestured towards the balconies.
“Care to follow me and cool off?”
The outdoor air was slightly chilly, which felt lovely on your bare forearms. You wore a dark beige pantsuit with no sleeves. Your champagne swirled in your glass as you watched the couples dance inside.
Vander was right. This helped you cool off considerably. You let out a relieved sigh as you felt the weight of the gala lift from your shoulders.
“Better?” Vander asked, and you nodded, taking a sip of your drink.
“Yes. Thank you.” You said, and he gave a nod of his own.
“It’s not a problem.
In the days after the charity gala, you kept thinking of Vander. He was tall, dashing, handsome, and maybe a bit dangerous. But it was apparent you had a crush.
I caught your eye, and you caught my attention
You like my style, and I love the affection
I live for the days we meet up at our hideout
I've never felt so alive, but we're dead if they find out.
A rock hit your window. You jolted awake from a light slumber and looked towards your cracked window. The cool breeze made you shiver in your night clothes as you opened your window and peeked out.
Vander stood below you, another pebble in hand as his gaze met yours.
“Vander? What are you doing here?” You called down quietly. He seemed bashful, rubbing the back of his neck.
“I—I couldn’t stop thinking about you… Sorry if it seems forward, but I had to see you again.” He said nervously, and you couldn’t help but grin.
“Well, I think that’s very sweet of you.”
My father was never your biggest fan
Values the name more than the man
Nobody, nobody, nobody understands
Suffice it to say; your father was not happy about your late-night visits by Vander.
“THINK OF THE FAMILY! HOW THIS WILL MAKE US LOOK!” He roared as you sat with your head down and hands clasped in your lap. Well, it was his fault, really, for hiring Vander in the first place. Yet, despite his anger, you felt giddy. Vander had gotten the courage to kiss your cheek last night.
But oh, you taste like wealth.
Oh, I'd risk my health.
For one more day with you
Vander wasn’t rich. Not in the traditional sense, at least. He was rich in feelings. In emotions. In love. He was so in love it was almost sickening. But you loved him just as much. He held your hand, pressing kisses to the knuckles whenever he felt like it when he would sneak you into the Undercity to meet his comrades—his figurative brothers—for the first time.
Silco was a tall, wiry man with a scowl on his face but apprehension in his eyes. He had cornered you while Vander was busy with some customers in his new bar, “The Last Drop”—you were so proud of him for accomplishing that—and demanded what your intentions were with his friend and brother.
“I love him.” You said honestly, and he recoiled as if the thought had never crossed his mind. He had left you alone after that, and you weren’t upset. You knew he meant well.
Benzo was much more welcoming. He had clapped a hand to your back, making you stumble, and congratulated Vander for “making such a catch!”
That was the only time you had ever seen Vander blush.
This is a tricky age
We're birds stuck in a cage
Wish I could fly away with you
We fit perfectly like milk and honey
But some things don't mix like young love and old money
Oh, oh, old money
Oh, oh, old money
Seeing Vander became harder as your father and mother pressured you to attend balls and galas with the intent of finding a spouse. You went, mainly because you were afraid. Afraid of what your parents would do if you didn’t go. Afraid they would cast you out onto the streets.
Some part of your mind figured it wouldn’t be that bad. You could be with Vander if they did.
But you were still terrified, so you attended meetings and gatherings. You danced with other guests, sometimes even laughed with them. But no one caught your eye as Vander did.
You right all my wrongs and make all my wrongs right
In the midst of a battle but it's worth the fight
My mother says marry for money.
A rich man's jokes are always funny
Nobody, nobody, nobody knows what I need
You and Vander sat on the roof of the Last Drop, swinging your feet idly as Vander poured you another drink. This was your spot. The place you and Vander always went to get away from anything. He leaned over and kissed your temple, making you giggle at the scruffiness of his beard tickling your face. His beard had grown considerably now that you both were twenty-one—several years after first meeting each other.
He had filled out more as well, a brick wall of pure muscle with massive forearms and biceps that could easily snap someone’s spine if he so wished.
“I’ve been thinking….” Vander began, and you looked up from watching the people milling about below.
“Uh oh, that’s dangerous.” You teased, and he shot you a mock glare, but it ended with the both of you laughing. You loved his laugh, especially the full-body laughter that shook his shoulders.
“I’ve been thinking….” Vander started again, giving you a look that dared you to say that again. “We should run away.” He finished and observed your expression.
But oh, you taste like wealth.
Oh, I'd risk my health.
For one more day with you
You stared in shock. Run away with Vander? What would your family think? They’d disown you for sure.
But… that thought didn’t seem so bad. You would be with Vander. Someone who made you happy. But could you really up and leave your entire life?
This is a tricky age
We're birds stuck in a cage
Wish I could fly away with you
We fit perfectly like milk and honey
But some things don't mix like young love and old money
Oh, oh, old money
Oh, oh, old money
“What if my father sends Enforcers? They’d kill you!” You said, and he shrugged,
“They could try. But I have you to protect. I’d never leave you alone like that.” He answered, voice soft. Did he look… sad? Disappointed?
“I—I don’t know Vander… I need to think about it.” You whispered eventually, and he hesitated before nodding.
“Alright then.”
Have you heard the news?
It's in the Post
I almost called it off
Almost
Everything went wrong when you got home. You thought nothing of it when your father called you into his study. Knocking quietly on the door, you waited for his gruff ‘come in.’
When you entered, an unfamiliar man stood before his desk and turned to face you. He looked nice enough—maybe a little older than you—with dark hair and eyes. He was dressed in a nice suit and looked nervous.
Who was he?
“Dearest?” Your father looked up from his documents and gestured for you to take a seat. You did so hesitantly, folding your arms across your chest and narrowing your eyes at the man across from you.
“What is this about?” You asked, and he swallowed, looking uncharacteristically nervous.
“This is Tobias Kiramman. Your betrothed.”
I said I'd wait for you and didn't keep my promise
When I spoke the words, I meant them
Honest
But I met an Ivy League man
My father offered him my hand
You know my appetite is quite expensive
And his summer home is so impressive
The floor dropped from underneath your feet as you felt the blood drain from your face.
Betrothed? That couldn’t be… Could it?
As soon as the shock wore off, you felt another emotion.
You were angry. Very angry.
“How dare you.” You snarled, and he looked shocked,
“How dare I?”
“Yes! How dare you?! Offering my hand to someone without my consent?!” You demanded, and now he looked equally as angry. Finally, he cut off your following words by slamming his hands on his desk and standing.
“How dare I? How dare you! Running around with that damned Trencher Vander! I should have never hired him.” He roared, and you flinched. Tobias Kiramman looked uncomfortable, as if he wanted to try and leave.
Your father sat back down, smoothing his hair with one hand and picking up a paper with the other.
“It’s settled. You marry tonight.”
You and I were made for a season
Forbidden fruit that I was eating
Oh, poor thing, don't look so blue
It's what I had to do but
I'll never forget you
You didn’t see Vander until years later. But, of course, life had changed considerably by then. You had a child, an adorable little girl named Caitlyn. You even had a seat on the Council, no thanks to your father. You had helped subdue the uprising of the Undercity, something no doubt led by Vander, Silco, and Benzo. You had heard their talks of trying to gain independence from Piltover. It was something you supported and openly talked about while in Council meetings.
Someone bumped into you while in the Piltover market. Caitlyn was still a tiny thing. But, at seven years old, she was starting to gain an interest in marksmanship, already brilliant for her age. You loved her, even if you didn’t love your husband.
You nearly dropped Caitlyn’s hand when you ran face-first into a solid wall of human muscle and flesh. Then, looking up, your heart sank.
It was Vander.
His beard was starting to get flecks and streaks of gray, crow’s feet and smile lines around his eyes. But he still looked the same. And he was looking at you in the same look of shock that you felt.
He called your name softly as if he wasn’t sure it was really you. You swallowed,
“Hello, Vander.” You replied just as softly. Caitlyn squeezed your hand, partially hiding behind your back. Vander noticed,
“Is that—”
“This is Caitlyn. My daughter. Adopted. What are you doing here, Vander?” You said curtly. You couldn’t be seen with him, not when you were this close to breaking down.
Vander swallowed thickly, nodding to himself.
“I was just here talking to a friend. I’m on my way back home now.” He said, and you pursed your lips. Part of you wanted to ask, but you knew you had no right.
You gathered up your groceries and Caitlyn’s hand, turning to leave. A hand on your shoulder stopped you,
“Wait.” Came Vander’s voice, and you stopped. You couldn’t say no to him. Turning, you leaned into his touch as he cradled your cheek.
“You’re as beautiful as the day I lost you.” He whispered, and you felt tears welling up. You couldn’t. Not like this.
“I’m sorry, Vander.” You said, voice cracking, and he dropped his hand, nodding. He turned and left, heading towards the Undercity bridge. You sniffled, wiped your eyes, and left the market.
Caitlyn’s voice calling your name broke your silence. You turned and looked at your little girl.
“Yes, Cait?” You replied, and she scuffed her feet and looked at her fingers twisting over themselves.
“Who was that?” She asked, and you tried not to cry for the second time that day.
“Just an old friend.”
Oh, you taste like wealth.
Oh, I'd risk my health.
For one more day with you
We fit perfectly like milk and honey.
But some things don't mix like young love and old money
Oh, oh, old money
Oh, oh, old money
Oh, oh, old money
Oh, oh, old money

HELLO AGAIN, SATURN LOVELY (or at least I hope it’s you, lmao, or else this is really embarrassing)
__________________________________________________________________________
Meeting Roland Fortis for the first time was less than desirable—mostly because he was trying to kill you.
The young man in front of you was broad-shouldered and well-built, like ridiculously well-built. He was your age with curly blond hair and his eyes a vibrant green. He held a ridiculous-looking weapon, but despite the absurdity of it, you had seen what it had done to your comrades.
Perhaps comrade was too kind a word. But it didn’t matter. They were still dead.
“You are a magnificent fighter!” The man crowed as you dodged yet another attack by his whip-like spearheads. You had no weapons, only your fists, and feet to punch and kick with. Yet, even without a weapon, you were doing relatively well for yourself, landing a few hits on the man.
But that didn’t explain why your ears were burning, and your heart was racing.
What was wrong with you?
You bumped into the young man again a few weeks later in town. Quite literally. He ran straight into you while you were looking at your grocery list. Your already purchased groceries went everywhere, apples and oranges rolling away as you looked up, ready to curse the poor soul who dared knock into you.
But your words died in your throat as soon as you saw those emerald green eyes again.
Was he here to finish the job? If so, why was he smiling a smile that made your stomach do jumping jacks, and your heart beat faster?
“It’s you again!” He exclaimed, and you swallowed nervously but didn’t say anything. His smile turned into a frown. He tilted his head. He looked like an adorable puppy.
No! Don’t get sucked into those eyes! Don’t fall for that charm!
“Can you not speak?” He asked innocently, and you nodded,
“Of course, I can. I’m just trying to think of what to say that won’t get me killed.” Now he looked hurt.
“I’m not going to kill you!” He exclaimed. You started to panic. People were beginning to look. You had to get him to stop. You had to get him to shut up.
He was still talking,
“I met a vampire who was actually quite pleasant! He helped change my views on your kind and—”
“If I agree to talk to you, will you quiet down?” You cut him off. There was that brilliant smile again, that smile that made your heart race.
Were you in love?
No! That couldn’t be! You couldn’t have a crush on a Chasseur!
“Of course!” He exclaimed and enthusiastically helped you up. He even helped gather what you could salvage of your fallen groceries.
The café you both sat at was quiet and nearly empty—the perfect place to talk. The waitress had seated you both in a corner booth, and after ordering coffee for the both of you, the young man looked at you, hands cradling his head with that smile of his making your belly do flips.
“My name is Roland Fortis! What’s yours?” He chirped happily. You answered much more quietly than him.
The conversation went from there, Roland asking innocent enough questions while you answered and sipped your coffee.
It was… nice.
Ask me why my heart's inside my throat
I've never been in love. I've been alone
Feel like I've been living life asleep
Love so strong it makes me feel so weak
You kept running into Roland after that. He always seemed so excited to see you, that smile of his making your ears burn and your heart race. Then, finally, it appeared after a while that you could consider him a friend.
One day, it all changed.
“I have a question for you.” He tittered, and you looked up from the crêpe you were eating. It had powdered sugar and strawberries, and chocolate syrup. It was delicious. You hummed absentmindedly as he seemingly hesitated. Why worry about what he was going to say when you could enjoy your tasty food right here?
“Will you go on a date with me?” You inhaled a bite right then and there and began to choke. You coughed and hit your chest in an attempt to dislodge the piece. Roland slid over next to you, prepared to do anything if you began to go unconscious. Eventually, however, you managed to swallow your bite and save yourself from certain death.
“Pardon?” You asked hoarsely. Roland shrugged,
“Will you go on a date with me?” He asked again. You narrowed your eyes. Was he joking? He had to be. Why would he want to go on a date with someone like you?
However, you found yourself accepting.
(Are you lonely?)
Our fingers dancing when they meet
You seem so lonely
(Are you lonely?)
I'll be the only dream you seek
So if you're lonely, no need to show me
If you're lonely, come be lonely with me
The date itself was nothing special. Just a picnic that Roland had put together himself. Somehow he had discovered all your favorite foods and managed to cook them himself. He said he got help from a ‘friend’ named Olivier. Though from his description of the man, you figured Roland had dragged him into helping.
The entire date was… nice. It was quite lovely actually. Roland made you laugh. He made you embarrassed. He made you… happy.
Which is why you didn’t object when he slowly held your gloved hand—it was cold out, snow was falling softly—then interlaced your fingers in his own gloved hand as he walked you home. He had insisted, claiming that he would protect you from any harm or danger.
You had to remind him that you were a vampire and could take care of yourself, thank you very much. He simply shrugged with that handsome smile of his.
Lonely (Are you lonely?)
Passion is crashing as we speak.
You seem so lonely
(Are you lonely?)
You're the ground my feet won't reach
So if you're lonely, Darling, you're glowing
If you're lonely, come be lonely with me
Roland kissed you on your fourth date.
He had taken you out to a nice restaurant and made you laugh again with a corny joke he had heard from his vampire friend Noé. Then, as he walked you home, he held your hand again, squeezing every once in a while as if reassuring himself that you were there.
He stood on your doorstep, laughing at something you said when you looked down at your hands, a bashful smile on your face. You watched as he reached forward and cradled your hands in his, and looked up. He looked both nervous and serious at the same time, eyebrows furrowed as he struggled to find the words to express what he wanted to say.
“Can I kiss you?” He asked, and your brain stalled before your ears started burning furiously. You didn’t say anything but found yourself nodding slowly. Your eyelashes fluttered as you closed your eyes and your lips parted slightly.
It seemed like a lifetime before his lips met yours, and you gasped. He took it slow, never taking more than you gave him. He tasted like the wine you had both had at dinner and was as soft as moonlight.
Underneath the pale moonlight
Dreaming of a circus life
Carousels and Ferris heights
I'll be yours if you'll be mine
The first time you drank blood from Roland was when you were on the verge of death. A vampire with a corrupted name had attacked you, ripping a hole in your belly and drinking your blood until it had been killed by none other than Roland. He dropped his weapon—a makeshift sword made out of a lead pipe—and ran to your side, cradling your head in his lap.
He called your name, begging you to stay with him and to stay awake. You tried, but your eyelids were so heavy. It couldn’t hurt to take a nap, right?
Right as you closed your eyes, you tasted something. It was delicious.
To a regular person, other humans don’t smell like much. Not unless they were wearing perfume or cologne. But to a dying vampire… The iron, salt, blood, and juice running through fat vessels and muscles were far more tempting than anything ever produced by humans.
Roland smelled like sweat and tears, with a faint whiff of blood from the scratch on his cheek. Perhaps there was a hint of bitterness and the scent of his cologne that you had purchased for him.
Cause I'm lonely, I'm so lonely.
If you hold me, I'll be your only
(Are you lonely?)
Our fingers dancing when they meet
You seem so lonely
(Are you lonely?)
I'll be the only dream you seek
So if you're lonely, no need to show me
If you're lonely, come be lonely with me
Your eyes shot open. He had cut his wrist with a fallen shard of glass and was holding it up to your mouth, a pleading tone to his voice as he spoke.
“Drink. Heal. Please. I can’t lose you!” He begged, and your instincts took over. Your bloody hands clutched at his hand and wrist as you drank greedily from him. You drank and drank and drank until you felt your gruesome wounds start to stitch back together. Blood vessels and muscles knit back together bit by bit until you were whole again.
Roland pulled you up and held you close, burying his nose in the junction between your neck and shoulder.
“Don’t scare me like that again. I love you too much to lose you.” He said softly, and your heart shattered at the wavering tone in his voice. You wrapped your arms around him and held him close,
“I’m not going anywhere.” You promised.
Are you lonely?
Passion is crashing as we speak.
You seem so lonely
You're the ground my feet won't reach
So if you're lonely
Darling, you're glowing
If you're lonely, come be lonely with me

This could be seen as a sequel (or prequel) to my oneshot, “Would You Still Love Me,” but you don’t need to read that one to understand this one.
This could also be seen as the alternate version to “What Could Have Been,” which is my angsty Viktor x Reader oneshot.
__________________________________________________________________________
You always wondered why Jayce settled for you. He was Piltover’s Golden Boy. The co-founder of Hextech. A member of the Council, for heaven’s sake!
Yet he settled for you, a lowly secretary.
If I could begin to be
Half of what you think of me
I could do about anything.
I could even learn how to love
Meeting you was almost fate. You were assigned as a secretary for Hextech through Heimerdinger to help with the growing paperwork. It wasn’t long before you had a crush on the hammersmith.
Of course, you didn’t tell him. There was no way on this planet that you would reveal your feelings to him.
When I see the way you act
Wondering when I'm coming back
I could do about anything.
I could even learn how to love like you
Love like you
It grew harder and harder as your feelings grew and grew. It was hard to be around Jayce without smiling or your ears burning. It felt like your throat was choking in flower petals. Like your heart expelled oxygen and firelights fluttered in your veins trying to find it.
It got better after you started dating. Jayce was the first to confess and ask you on a date, face flushed and eyes avoiding yours. He was like a nervous schoolboy. It was endearing. You had made a move then, reaching forward and interlacing your fingers with his. His eyes had shot to meet yours, and he smiled the most brilliant smile you had seen from him yet.
I always thought I might be bad
Now I'm sure that it's true
'Cause I think you're so good
And I'm nothing like you
You admired how hardworking Jayce was and how he took the time to talk to anyone who approached him. Even if it was a small child on the street with a toy Hextech blimp clutched in tiny hands.
You adored how he loved you. How caring he was. How he looked at you with fondness. How he always leaned down to drop a kiss on your cheek or the top of your head. How he held your hand so tenderly and loved you so dearly.
Look at you go
I just adore you
I wish that I knew
What makes you think I'm so special
He proposed when you were both thirty-two—two years after meeting for the first time. Two years of skirting around each other before getting together. Two years of bliss and intimacy. Two years of some arguments about his health and the workload he took on to keep the public and the Council happy.
If I could begin to do
Something that does right by you
I would do about anything
I would even learn how to love
Your wedding was large—a side-effect of being engaged to Piltover’s Prodigy. Your father walked you down the aisle. It was an indoor wedding as it snowed outside, with you and Jayce married under an arbor covered in white roses.
The reception was much smaller than the ceremony—with only close friends and family. It was holiday themed, with your respective holidays being celebrated and mixed to celebrate the union between you and Jayce.
When I see the way you look
Shaken by how long it took
I could do about anything
I could even learn how to love like you
Love like you
Three years after you both got married, you decided to expand your family. So you adopted a boy named Edgar and a girl named Amelia from the same family. Edgar was six years old. Amelia was five. They were almost identical and looked remarkably like Jayce, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
You joked that they could be his illegitimate children. He had taken it seriously and told you he’d never cheat, not when he loved you too much to do that to you.
Even though I can't compare
And I'm sorry if I stare
I just want to do everything
Maybe I could learn how to love
As the two of you grew older, started getting gray hairs, and eventually, as Jayce and Viktor retired, your love never wavered. Then, as Edgar and Amelia grew older, they moved out and started their own lives. But they still came over for dinner every week.
People say this love is wrong.
But all I want is to belong
I can say without any doubt
Everyone should learn how to love like you
Jayce held your hand as tenderly as he always did, running his thumb over your wedding band as the heart monitor beeped next to you. Oxygen tubes fed air through the little nubbins into your nose so you could breathe easier.
You had fallen. And in your old age, you had gotten injured. Luckily, Jayce found you at the bottom of the stairs not long after the accident, so you weren’t alone for too long. After being rushed to the hospital, the doctor told you your injuries were severe. A rib had been broken, and punctured a lung. In addition, you had bruising in your brain from where you had hit your head.
“I love you. You know that?” You whispered, and Jayce’s wrinkled hand tightened on yours.
“Of course I do. Two years of dating and fifty-four years of marriage, and I never doubted it for a second.” He replied, and you huffed out a quiet laugh before wincing at the sharp pain. You’d need more morphine soon.
But that didn’t matter.
“I just want you to know that. That I love you so much.” You said, and your eyes slowly drooped closed, your hand slack in Jayce’s.
Love like you
Love like you
Jayce leaned up and pressed a kiss to your forehead. It was already beginning to cool.
“I love you too, dearest.”

My plan was to go through the songs on your list and listen to the ones I had never heard before, to try and find one that hit me hard. Didn't even get past the first one before I was like 'oh god, please do my precious boy Viktor and just give him all good feels and love he deserves. So if you can, Clinton Kane - I guess I'm in love for Viktor (Arcane) Not only is your writing phenomenal, but now I am going to be going through all these songs to see if there are anymore amazing ones I don't know. Thank you!

__________________________________________________________________________
Oh, I'm obsessed
With the way your head is laying on my chest
It was quiet. Peaceful. The light was off as the two of you lay in bed in the dark. Viktor glanced over to the clock. 4:48 AM. You were slumbering peacefully, head on his chest and arm over his waist, your hand tucked underneath his nightshirt and resting on his stomach. His arm was around your shoulders, his head leaning against yours as he watched the minutes tick by. Your legs tangled together until he wasn’t sure where you ended, and he began.
But he didn’t mind.
He never did when it came to you.
He loved you too much to worry about the little things.
How you love the things I hate about myself that no one knows
But with you, I see hope again
He remembered meeting you.
You had accidentally knocked his crutch over one morning in your rush to get to your class. After apologizing profusely on your way to his class, you said sorry one last time. He had been eighteen at the time. But it didn’t matter. He was smitten.
Coincidentally, the two of you were in the same class. You were both TAs to the professor. Both geniuses in your field. However, you specialized in botany while he in his inventions. When you spotted him, your face changed to such a look of surprise he couldn’t help but chuckle a little.
After class, you had approached him and asked if he wanted to get a coffee in the campus café as an apology.
He didn’t know why, but he accepted.
After that, things were history.
Oh, I'm a mess
When I overthink the little things in my head
It was hard starting a relationship with you. He overthought things constantly, made mistakes, and nearly missed when he kissed you for the first time. He had been twenty then, two years of dating before he had the courage to make that move.
But you didn’t care; you had waited all that time with a patient smile whenever he apologized for not being ready.
“That’s okay. I love you anyway.” So you had told him every time.
Loved him. You loved him, and every time you told him, it made his heart race.
If only he had the courage to say it back.
You seem to always help me catch my breath, but then I lose it again
When I look at you, that's the end
Viktor had started looking for a ring when he was twenty-two.
Four years of bliss and happiness, but also arguments and fights. Discussions and disagreements about his health and overworking himself. Disputes about you handling dangerous plants and going on perilous expeditions to retrieve more specimens.
But you made it through it all. Stayed with him and loved him through everything.
And why do I get so nervous when I look into your eyes?
Butterflies can't stop me falling for you.
He had proposed when the two of you were twenty-eight. After this point, he had met Jayce, started Hextech, and moved in with you. This was ten years after meeting you for the first time—ten years of gathering the courage to ask you to marry him.
You had said yes, tears streaming down your face as you had pulled him up from one knee to kiss him. You had tasted like your strawberry chapstick—his favorite flavor. You had put it on just for him in case he kissed you.
And darling, this is more than anything I've felt before
You're everything that I want, but I didn't think I'd find
Your wedding had been simple; only immediate friends and family had been in attendance. Jayce was his best man. It had been an obvious choice. He had cried when seeing you for the first time, tears welling up, and he had sniffed and wiped his eyes in an attempt to dry his tears.
You had thrown your arms around his neck, pressing your lips to his the second the minister had finished speaking. Again, he had tasted your strawberry chapstick.
Someone who was worth the wait of all the years of my heartbreak
But I know now I've found the one I love
Married life hadn’t changed your lives together much. You still parted ways to your respective workplaces, a kiss on the cheek or lips in the doorway when you each left. You often left before him, getting up at the crack of dawn when he was still sleeping. He slept later than you at your insistence; he usually got home later than yourself, so he slept later when you had urged him to take care of his health.
He listened to you because he loved you.
And I love the way
You can never find the right things to say
You struggled with your words, often stuttering and repeating yourself. However, you always chalked it up to social anxiety. Viktor helped the best he could, but he wasn’t much better. The only time the both of you were confident was when discussing your respective fields.
Jayce noticed. And teased you about it. You’d banter with him, something that made Viktor smile. He loved that his spouse and best friend got along.
You also never could sit still. The only time you weren’t moving was when you were asleep. So the two of you went on late-night walks every night in an attempt to help the nervous energy. Admittedly, with Viktor’s crutch and limp, it was slow going, but you had appreciated the gesture nonetheless.
And you can't sit still an hour in a day
I'm so in love, let's run away
Because us is enough
Viktor loved you, heart, body, and soul. He loved everything about you. He loved your nervous energy, your habit of cuddling when asleep. He loved your cooking and your loving and patient personality.
And why do I get so nervous when I look into your eyes?
And butterflies can't stop me falling for you.
He had never felt anything like this before. Never felt the fluttering in his belly, even after all these years. Never felt the racing of his heart like when he had first met you. Sure he had a crush on someone before, but never like this.
And darling, this is more than anything I've felt before
You're everything that I want, but I didn't think I'd find
Someone who was worth the wait of all the years of my heartbreak
But I know now I've found the one
You had been there when he had used the Hexcore to walk for the first time and run for the first time. He had swept you off your feet in a hug, wrapped his arms around your waist, lifted you up, and spun you around once. You wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him desperately.
“I’m so proud of you, Viktor.” You had whispered, kissing him again. You loved to kiss him. It was almost like you had a fixation, but he didn’t mind. Tears streamed down his face,
“But Sky—”
“Was not your fault. It was the Hexcore and the Hexcore alone.” So you had assured him, hugging him tightly as he set you down.
Come close
Let me be home for anything
Good or bad, I know it's worth it, whoa
You stuck with him, even as you grew old and gray with him. Ten years. Twenty years. Fifty years. You stuck with him through it all.
And darling, this is more than anything I've felt before
You're everything that I want, but I didn't think I'd find
Someone who was worth the wait of all the years of my heartbreak
But I know now I've found the one I love
He guessed he was in love.

This one-shot mentions a female in the lyrics but is written as gender-neutral.
ALSO, THANK YOU!!! I also listened to the song “Perfect Symphony” by Ed Sheeran feat. Andrea Bocelli, while writing this! It’s pretty much the same song, just with some Italian in it :)
__________________________________________________________________________
It was quiet save for the soft murmuring of the guests in the background. But that didn’t matter. All that mattered was the man in front of you, dressed in pristine snow white.
You were dressed in all white, the hem of your white trousers twirling softly against the ground as the two of you danced gently over the dance floor. The music was quiet overhead, just loud enough to be heard but not overbearing.
You rested your forehead against Doppo’s, a brilliant smile crossing your face. Doppo pressed a kiss to your forehead.
“I love you.” You whispered and saw his cheeks flush red.
“I love you too.” He murmured, and you laughed gently.
“We just got married, and you’re still embarrassed?
I found a love for me.
Darling, just dive right in and follow my lead
Well, I found a girl, beautiful and sweet
Oh, I never knew you were the someone waiting for me.
You sat at the table of your choice, eating slices of cake and talking in quiet tones. Doppo kept an eye on Dazai to ensure he didn’t cause a disturbance and you were enjoying your cake. It was chocolate, Doppo’s favorite. You laughed as Dazai started to tease his friend, hands on his hips and a smile on his face. Doppo flushed red again but didn’t refute whatever the brunette had said.
'Cause we were just kids when we fell in love
Not knowing what it was
I will not give you up this time
But darling, just kiss me slow
Your heart is all I own
And in your eyes, you're holding mine
You two met as children, you having moved into the house next door with your parents. You met the seven-year-old boy with blonde hair and glasses during the move. He was reading a small chapter book that you didn’t recognize nor could read. You were only six, after all.
After asking your mom, you scampered over to the young boy and took a seat next to him on the grass. He looked alarmed, pushing his glasses up his nose.
“Hi! What book are you reading?” You also said your name, and the boy blinked at you, looking genuinely confused.
“Kunikida Doppo… The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. Wait, why are you over here?” He asked, and you shrugged,
“I don’t have any friends. I’m moving in today. I was hoping you could be my friend!”
Kunikida again looked confused.
“Why do you want to be friends? Nobody wants to be friends with me.” He said matter of factly, and while you were still young, your heart broke for him.
Baby, I'm dancing in the dark.
With you between my arms
Barefoot on the grass
Listening to our favorite song
When you said you looked a mess
I whispered underneath my breath
But you heard it,
Darling, you look perfect tonight
You asked Doppo—now that he allowed you to call him that—out on a date when he was seventeen, and you were sixteen—ten years after meeting each other and becoming the most unlikeliness of friends. The minute you asked him, his face erupted into shades of crimson.
But he hadn’t said no.
Well, I found a woman stronger than anyone I know.
She shares my dreams; I hope that someday I'll share her home
I found a love to carry more than just my secrets
To carry love, to carry children of our own
Doppo had proposed when you were twenty, and he was twenty-one. After a year of engagement, you had finally planned your wedding and gotten married.
We are still kids, but we're so in love
Fighting against all odds
I know we'll be alright this time
Darling, just hold my hand
Be my girl; I'll be your man
I see my future in your eyes
You were still in love with your husband three years after getting married. You still danced in the kitchen, shared a cup of coffee in the mornings, or in his case, a cup of herbal tea. You helped him tie his tie every morning before sending him off for work at the Armed Detective Agency.
Baby, I'm dancing in the dark.
With you between my arms
Barefoot on the grass
Listening to our favorite song
When I saw you in that dress
Looking so beautiful
I don't deserve this
Darling, you look perfect tonight
The call that Doppo was in the hospital made your heart drop to your stomach. Dazai hadn’t even ended the call when you were out of the apartment. You were down the stairs and in the car.
His injuries were severe, his hands gone. A bomb had blown them to bits, and they had to be amputated. Unfortunately, Yosano was unavailable, so he couldn’t be healed right away.
You cried at his bedside, holding what was left of his arm. They looked more like a club at that point with the number of bandages. He tried comforting you,
“But your Ability—”
“I don’t care about that. I’m just glad you weren’t caught in the fight.” He whispered.
No, no, no
You had kissed him desperately then, making sure not to aggravate his injuries. You hoped he would be okay. You loved him too much to lose him.
Baby, I'm dancing in the dark.
With you between my arms
Barefoot on the grass
Listening to our favorite song
I have faith in what I see
Now I know I have met an angel in person
And she looks perfect
I don't deserve this
You look perfect tonight.

Viktor always considered himself broken.
Crippled.
Useless.
It wasn’t an attempt at degrading himself; it was just a simple fact. Viktor was just a crippled assistant from the Undercity.
That was until he met you.
You were a guest lecturer on physics from a neighboring city. Jayce had dragged him away from his studies and current Hextech project to listen to your series of lectures.
He had been smitten from minute one.
I used to hear a simple song
That was until you came along
You were so put together, so eloquent yet so simple with your words, your cursive neat, precise, and easy to read for anyone attending your lecture.
Jayce seemingly noticed on the fourth lecture that Viktor didn’t put up a fight when leaving his work to attend the daily class by you. He teased him relentlessly but seemed harmless enough.
Until he proceeded to bring Viktor up to you after your lecture ended.
Now in its place is something new
I hear it when I look at you
Viktor had nearly had a heart attack by the time he arrived in front of you. Jayce was all smiles as he introduced himself and Viktor to you. You were kind and courteous but still distant.
That was until Viktor began to talk. He didn’t say much at first. He just complimented your elegance and lecture. Then, finally, you opened up, talking excitedly about your field and asking him if he knew anything about it.
Of course, he did. He mentioned it as such and was incredibly surprised when you invited him out to coffee to discuss more. He was even more surprised when he accepted.
The two of you went to the campus café and sat over coffee, talking about projectile motion and the force of gravity on objects and other physics topics. You talked for hours, using your hands and excitedly telling him in-depth about stuff you hadn’t even lectured about. Instead, he had happily listened idly with only passing comments as he sipped his coffee.
It was the best cup of coffee he had ever had.
With simple songs, I wanted more
Perfection is so quick to bore
After that, you actually stayed in Piltover for several months after your lectures were over. Just so that you could visit Viktor.
And that surprised him.
Why would you want to talk to a broken assistant from the Undercity?
You visited every day—often bringing him and Jayce lunch or dinner or even breakfast if you knew they hadn’t eaten yet that day.
You are more beautiful by far
Our flaws are who we really are
It wasn’t long before you asked him out for dinner. For a date. He walked you home that night and nearly fell down the stairs from your hotel door when you pressed a kiss to his cheek and thanked him for the wonderful night. Dates became a regular thing after that.
It wasn’t long before Viktor found himself falling in love. Falling in love with your excited mannerisms, your smile, and the way you loved him unconditionally.
Which is why it broke his heart so much when you left.
I used to hear a simple song
That was until you came along
He saw you off as you boarded the airship, limping beside you as you walked silently. You looked like you were about to cry, which is probably why you didn’t say anything. But you couldn’t extend your stay any longer, your money was running out, you refused to accept any from him, and you also had family waiting for you back home.
There was the final call for boarding as you turned to face him. Tears welled up in your eyes as you seemingly realized this was the last time you’d see Viktor for a very, very long time.
He had asked to kiss you, pressing a gentle kiss to your lips as tears overflowed. You tasted like salt and unspoken promises—a promise to come back to him.
You took my broken melody
And now I hear a symphony
He felt whole again. Despite you leaving, he knew that eventually… you’d come back.
Ah-ah oh-ooh-oh ah-ah

A bit short, but I still like it :)
This is also not really a song-fic, though it is laid out like one. It’s me more being inspired by the lyrics.
__________________________________________________________________________
Kento looked at you like you had the moon in your eyes and the sun in your time-cracked palms. He looked at you like you wrote sentences and stories in the Milky Way. As if you connected the stars with your finger as the pen and your imagination as calligraphy ink.
He let himself be sucked in.
I've got miles of regrets and confusing friends
But perhaps it's just my stupid head in the end
Thinking should I wait here or make my way home
You said go
Kento looked at you as if your skin and lips were stained with the dandelion of hopes and plum of dreams. As if you painted your cheeks with the brushstrokes of nebulas, and red giants, and white dwarfs, and neutron stars.
You let yourself be sucked in.
Making up problems that don't exist
Why do I let myself dream like this
We're floating away. My body's in space
We are going home
You both cracked open a bottle of champagne with gravestones. Watching the sky and weaving stories in a tapestry of silence as he told you stories of Jujutsu Sorcerers who got a little too friendly with death and had to say a hasty goodbye. Before adding themselves as another glittering star in the sky.
He let himself be sucked into your embrace.
Missing pieces of my skull
I'll sew on patches of my own soul.
There's nothing you or I can do, so let the stars fall
Cause from up here, the sky's my thoughts, and we're all so small
You sang songs about them, something Kento admired. You sang ballads and soul songs and danced waltzes to honor the fallen. You sang to the sound of wind passing through windchimes and to comets falling from the sky and the sun going down over the horizon.
You let yourself be sucked into his touch.
Meteor shower, quick take cover
But the hues in our hair compliment one another
I'd sell my own bones for sapphire stones
Cause blue's your favorite color
Your anxiety stitched your mouth shut with spider silk, so you wouldn’t ever say what you really felt. Your imagination was a lonesome garden party never attended; the guest list was flower-pressed names long forgotten, left to decay in a chest of wicker and brass. But he cut the silk with gentle fingers and kind words. He allowed you to express your opinion and listened happily.
He let himself be sucked into your heart.
My heart and the earth share the same rule
It starts with Love, and it ends with you
But don't go outside, it's dangerous tonight
Without me here right by your side
He was your boy of silver and gold. Wearing his heart on his silver sleeve and his soul behind molten promises. Burning light cascaded from his glowing heart as you cradled his face as you changed the color of the sky in your eyes.
You let himself be sucked into his soul.
Take it slow. You'll know
Which way to go
Sew up your skull
Take your time
And we'll be just fine

The stars lean down to kiss you
And I lie awake and miss you
Pour me a heavy dose of atmosphere
You were alone. The room was slowly getting darker, and the light of the setting sun was streaming in through the open window. You stood at the kitchen counter, chopping onions to add to the curry you were making.
It was Kento’s favorite.
But he wasn’t here to enjoy it with you.
No, he was out of the country to clear out a cursed spirit infestation in Australia. He was supposed to be back in two weeks.
It was now week four.
You tried not to get too upset when he called and informed you that everything would be taking longer. That people were in danger.
I'll watch the night turn light blue
But it's not the same without you
Because it takes two to whisper quietly
As you got ready for bed—having eaten dinner by yourself—you checked all the locks and windows. Normally Kento did this kind of thing just to make you feel safe, but now that he was gone, you had to do it. It hurt your heart to finish the little things.
Things like doing the dishes that he normally did, checking the locks, and going to bed without having a kiss goodnight. Sure it was first-world problems, but your heart still ached for your lover.
The silence isn't so bad.
'Til I look at my hands and feel sad
'Cause the spaces between my fingers
Are right where yours fit perfectly
The lamp light illuminated your side of the bed, bathing the room in a golden-orange glow. You sat on your bed, aimlessly scrolling through social media as you waited for sleep to overtake you. You debated calling Kento but eventually decided against it. He was probably busy taking care of curses. He was likely going into overtime by now.
You just hoped he was alright.
I'll find repose in new ways.
Though I haven't slept in two days
'Cause cold nostalgia chills me to the bone
Eventually, you turned the light off, curling onto your side and pulling your blanket up around your shoulders. It was chilly, just how you liked it. It gave you an excuse to cuddle next to Kento and bask in his warmth.
Now it felt too cold. Unconsciously, you found yourself rolling over to Kento’s side, hugging his pillow to your chest, and tried not to cry.
You missed him.
But drenched in vanilla twilight.
I'll sit on the front porch all night
Waist deep in thought because when
I think of you; I don't feel so alone
It was hours into the night when you awoke again. You were shivering, so you got up and turned off the fan. Slowly, it began to warm up as you added another blanket and curled into a ball. Glancing at your phone, you realized it was 3:08 AM. Way too early for this. But there was still only one thing on your mind.
You hoped he was alright.
I don't feel so alone.
I don't feel so alone.
As many times as I blink
I'll think of you tonight.
When you woke up again, it was 5:41 AM. The early morning sun was beginning to rise, filling your room with soft dawn light. It would have been the perfect morning to stay in bed, begging Kento to stay with you as he got up for work.
He always would. Sliding back into bed with you with a brush of his lips on yours.
I'll think of you tonight.
Tears welled up in your eyes. You missed Kento. Perhaps too much.
When violet eyes get brighter
And heavy wings grow lighter
I'll taste the sky and feel alive again
And I'll forget the world that I knew
But I swear I won't forget you
A strong arm curled around your waist and pulled you into a solid chest. You jumped and turned. There was Kento, still dressed in his dress shirt, tie, and slacks. He looked tired but still pressed a kiss to your cheek,
“I’m home.” He whispered, and you smiled, turning to face him fully. He leaned his head on his free hand and smiled that small genuine smile of his that you loved.
“Welcome home, Ken.” You replied just as softly,
Oh, if my voice could reach back through the past
I'd whisper in your ear
"Oh darling, I wish you were here"

700 Follower Event!
Hello, my lovelies! I recently reached 700 followers (no idea when and I’m so sorry) and wanted to thank you all so much and celebrate! I honestly never thought I’d get this far, and thank you all so much for getting me here. I know it’s not a huge follower count compared to other Tumblr accounts, but I’m trying my best, and that’s all that matters.
Anyway! Onto the event! I’m doing a thing (well, duh, Fairy, get on with it) where I’ll write a one-shot based on a song!
I have a list of 50 songs below, it’s a mix of platonic, romantic, and angsty songs for you to pick from!
So pick one and a character from one of the fandoms listed, and I’ll write a little blurb or a one-shot based on the song! Just be warned, I will cross off the song once it’s chosen for a one-shot. That way, I don’t have a million requests for the same song.
The event will be open for two weeks starting today! It’ll be available from the 18th of September to the 2nd of October!
All attempts are under the tag: fairytailwzard 700 followers
THIS IS LIMITED TO TWO REQUEST AND TWO CHARACTERS PER PERSON!
IF I GET MORE THAN TWO FROM THE SAME PERSON, ANONYMOUS WILL BE TURNED OFF, AND I WILL DELETE THEM!!
